Maybe it's good idea, maybe not, but I think we need a topic where we could speak only english. About anything you want (about everything and about nothing ;] ) for example how your day was. We could practice our english or just speak different language if someone thinks speaking polish all time is so boring. If someone doesn't know english - don't be angry - you can add a topic to speak only German, Italian, or any other language you are able to speak.
What do yous think about that?

I got pretty comfortable with english beacause I visit one american forum every day. Not to mention listening to podcasts and watching movies with english subtitles. I only need to work on speaking beacause there's not much opportunity for that.

I'm listen internet radios everyday and watch movies only with Polish subtitles.
I have Linux Ubuntu in English languahe and my cellfone, too.

No, I don't think that this topic is interesting. Why ?
Bcuz I think that english is everywhere and we don't need it here. There's too much english in our normal life and look, we live in poland and we should use polish language as much as we can.
Just listen to "Rota" by M. Konopnicka or realize why M. Rej wrote: "A niechaj narodowie wżdy postronni znają, iż Polacy nie gęsi, iż swój język mają", we have our language we don't need to be english native speakers ..

There is no way to be a native speaker unless you were born in english speaking country
If it comes to my opinion on this topic, I have nothing against Owing to my high school english teacher I fell in love with this language so that it took me only 3 years of hard studying to pass 'Matura' exam with flying colours and get qualified for an advanced group at univeristy Unfortunately, I stopped improving as there were only 2 semesters of it and now I do my best to maintain a reasonable level by watching movies with/without subs, reading english books, some of which I bought fairly cheap on Allegro, and speaking to some friends I made in the US via Skype. Sometimes I think my english is pretty good and then get disappointed trying to understand some lyrics of some reggae/ska/rap artists

I meant be native speaker like. I study english by myself for over fourteen years, and I haven't got better by a teacher, all by myself.


And look: in america they voted for main spoken language and english was first but it won with german language only by one vote, so if german language would be worlds language we would spoke german.

If we are going to speak about trying to understand lyrics, I can really say that sometimes I don't know what they're up to in polish songs.

And last thing, in our normal life people put in their sentences some english words.
In polish tv word "fuck" is censored, it's insane.
But I'm in good mood because i know that poles in XIV and other centuries thrown some italian words to their sentences and some years later they were laughed.

I do agree indeed that we should use and respect our mother tongue and am against the substitution of polish words for english ones.
